From the 2002 Brunswick Billiards Montebello sell sheet:
Drawn purely from European designs, the Montebello features beaded rails and leg stretchers, classic Louis XIV legs, and distinctive hand-carved corner pilaster elements.
The European style draws from English and Continental influences spanning the 16th through 19th centuries, encompassing Regency, Georgian, Louis XIV and others. The Revival of European styling resulted from growing middle-class affluence during the 1920s, when people expressed interest in regal "old world" furniture. The European tradition exemplifies stately, aristocratic elegance, celebrating organic patterns and complex wood grains.
The Brunswick Montebello table is a classic study in European design influences, principally Louis XIV. Elegantly shallow in depth, the table’s deep leg posts are buttressed by trestles and a distinctive and unobtrusive stretcher. Constructed of exotic Brazilian curubixa, the Montebello is presented in a dark walnut finish, features mother-of-pearl rail sights, and is available in eight- and nine-foot models.
The Montebello table presents faithful design aesthetics in the context of supreme engineering and superb performance and playability-hallmarks of the Brunswick nameplate. The table features Brunswick’s exclusive SuperSpeed® Cushions for extremely accurate rebound angles, patented Cross Bolt construction, Brunswick-certified premium slate, and High-Performance Nut Plate construction for lasting stability. As a result, balls play truer on Brunswick tables than on any other make. Backed by a Lifetime Ownership Warranty.
